Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses of Austin (PAPNA) seeks to advance mental health in the Austin Area by providing peer and professional support to Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (PMH-APRNs). We are working to raise awareness about psychiatric nursing and promote the profession. Our primary goals include promoting excellence in practice, and advancing the role of the Texas PMH-APRNs through practice, education and community leadership.
Donna Rolin
Dr. Rolin is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program director at UT Austin) since 2012. She received her PhD in Nursing Research from New York University and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Co-Director of the University of Texas’ Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (IDVSA) and Co-Principal Investigator on several large interdisciplinary training grants. Dr.Rolin’s clinical experience has included inpatient, forensic, geriatric, and community psychiatry. She currently works with patients with serious mental illness and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Lorraine Papa
Lorraine L Papa, Phd, APRN, PMHCNS-BC received her BS and MS from Adelphi University, PhD from the University of Texas Austin and earned a Master Clinician Award from the NeuroScience Institute in Carlsbad California. She holds both Adult and Adolescent and Child certification thru ANCC. Her past professional activities include development of the Mental Health Department at Austin Regional Clinic while serving as Co-Director and working at Vanderbilt University and UT Austin as Assistant Professor. She currently works in private practice specializing in mixed mood disorders. | Amanda J. Simonton
Amanda J. Simonton, PhD, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her BSN, MSN, and PhD from The University of Texas at Austin. Amanda primarily works in addiction and child-adolescent psychiatry. Stella Logan
Stella Logan MSN, APRN PMHCNS-BC, PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric-mental health clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner. She received her MSN from Case Western Reserve University and her post-master’s degree at University of Texas at Arlington. After retiring from a full time faculty position at UT Austin she remains as adjunct faculty while practicing part time with a focus on populations with intellectual and developmental disabilities and volunteering in various professional organizations. | Camille Watson
Camille Watson, MSN, APRN PMHCNS-BC is currently in private practice at Austin Psychiatric Alliance. Camille has decades of experience in various roles in psychiatric nursing. She often precepts PMH NP students in her private practice. Camille enjoys hiking and gardening when not working. Jaime Nelson
Jaime Nelson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC is the owner and founder of Balcones Psychiatry and Mental Health. She completed her advanced practice education at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing in 2011. She currently works with children and adults in a private practice setting. |
